WE ARE HERE

Artist Talk

The National Museum – Oslo (NO)

This year, the National Museum’s annual dissemination seminar collaborates and joins with the Queer Cultural Year research conference. The seminar values experience-based knowledge as equal to academic knowledge and has therefore invited a range of people from various fields, including academics, artists, activists, curators, doujáres and others to share their practices within research and dissemination of the arts.
On 21 April 1972, section 213, which prohibited sexual acts between men, was removed from the Norwegian Penal Code. To mark this, the National Museum, the National Library and the Skeivt Arkiv (The Norwegian archive for queer history) have joined forces on the initiative for a national celebration to disseminate and discuss queer art, culture and history.

Through an artist talk, Francesca Grilli will present the Family involved in her performance, a family that goes beyond blood ties and that expands the limits of the concept of love.
