ARTE VIVA - Processi performativi e partecipativi come pratica
exhibition
Museo MA*GA, Gallarate (IT)
Ring Ring Ring, conceived as both performance and installation, was awarded the Premio Gallarate and subsequently acquired by the MA*GA Museum for its permanent collection.
The installation is currently presented as part of the museum’s collection and will remain on view until October 11, 2026 for the exhibition ARTE VIVA - Processi performativi e partecipativi come pratica.
Ring Ring Ring explores memory, gestures, and the traces of everyday life through a process of transmission and transformation. A wax family ring, passed from hand to hand, gradually changes through use before being cast in brass, preserving the warmth of touch and the accumulation of collective memory. During the performance, the act of polishing the ring - amplified through a contact microphone - produces a resonant sound that evokes journeys, duration, and the passage of time. The work reflects on shared experiences and intergenerational transmission, with the brass ring becoming a tangible embodiment of collective memory.
