The former Hotel Commercio is the oldest guest house in town. Closed to the public since 2004, the ex Hotel Commercio is a part of the ancien complex of Santo Spirito founded in 1311.  In Contemporary Locus 3 are exposed four works (together with Terrorist Balloon by the visual artist Vlad Nanca) which highlight cyclical time and address the different identities that the former Hotel Commercio acquired throughout the centuries:  the video Oro (2011)  looks back to the roots of Western culture and recall the image of uroboros, representing the recurring nature of things and the theory of the eternal return. The site-specific installation 100 (2012) transforms the first hall into the source of the continuous and dilated sound of the hundred tolls of the Campanone (big bell) of Bergamo. This work, and also the previous one, projects the external dimension of the city inside a space that has become estranged and is now inhabited by time only.  The two performances Arriverà e ci coglierà di sorpresa (2012) and Unfading Midnight (2012) are about the process of aging. Embodied by mature performers, aging becomes a measure for renewed energy, which through experience and passion expands time into endless circularity.
