The project starts with exploring the archive from ex Discoteca di Stato (Istituto Centrale per i Beni Sonori ed Audiovisivi, Rome, Italy), in which the censorship started.
The performance consists of a concert for cello and double bass, in which the musicians play some songs from Italian music censored repertoire. The songs were changed or deleted by the censors and the musicians will play them in their integrity and originality, without cutting any parts.
I modified the structure of the musical instrument, adding fire on the bowline as a reflection of the operation of cutting and destroying made by the censors. This transformation will partially destroy the music instrument and its notes.
The aim of this work underlines important aspects of our contemporary situation in Italy, describing the current limitations and trying to exorcize them through an analysis of music as a social mirror.
